Concerta is directed at the treatment of ADHD. Its generic drug is Methylphenidate. ADHD is Attention-deficit hyperactive disorder. It is a neurodevelopmental disorder, mostly seen in childhood. This medicine is prescribed to children, adolescents, and adults. This is a highly addictive medicine. It can be abused, hence it is a controlled substance. Concerta is also used to treat narcolepsy to some extent.

This medication is available in four tablet strengths.  They are extended-release tablets of  Concerta 18 mg, Concerta 27 mg, Concerta 36 mg, or Concerta 54 mg of Methylphenidate.  It is oral administration with a 12-hour duration of effect once a day. Concerta 36 mg increases the concentration, attentiveness, focus, and listening ability of the children. You should take it prescribed by the doctor. Some side effects of using Concerta 36 mg are insomnia, mood swing, weight loss, numbness, dizziness, hallucination, paranoia, headache, etc. So, you should not drive or do heavy work while taking it.
